Carter had stitches all up the side of his face, though most of his ear on the left side of his head was gone. He breathed slowly.

Flash rushes up to him, and takes his hand lightly, standing beside the bed quietly. "Carter," She whispers worriedly.

Carter's eyes opened slowly and he looked at Flash. He looked around, then asked, "Where is Dylan?" He could barely remember what had happened, but he knew it wasn't good. Not seeing Dylan with Flash made him begin to worry immediately.

"Joe has him," Flash whispers, and squeezes his hand lightly, watching him. "Are you okay," She asks, searching his face. Joe pulls up, and gets out, grabbing Dylan. He walks in, and goes straight to Carter's room.

Carter felt the pull of the stitches and asked, "What happened?"

Flash touches his face lightly. "Don't move so much, you might rip open your stitches," She whispers. "Blake shot, and hit the side of your face. Part of your ear is missing," She whispers, and watches him. "You won't have to worry about him anymore," Joe says calmly, stepping into the room.

Carter sat up, looked over at Joe. The stitches pulled again and he winced, touching them carefully. "My face," he mumbled, disappointed.

Flash shakes her head, and pushes him back down lightly. "Please, Carter, just stay on your back," She whispers, and squeezes his hand.

Carter closed his eyes, wincing as the pain in the side of his face suddenly intensified. The left side of his mouth wasn't moving how it should when he spoke, making it look odd when he talked. "Is Dylan okay?"

Joe steps forward slowly. "He's fine. Nothing was done around him," He replies, and hands Flash her son. Flash takes him, and watches Carter. "You'll be okay," She whispers, and kisses his hand, not wanting to hurt him.

Carter kept his eyes closed. The medication the doctors had him on was making him drift back to sleep.

Flash sits down, keeping her eyes on him.

Flash shuts her eyes slightly, and sighs.

After about an hour, Carter opened his eyes again and looked around.

Flash opens her eyes slightly, seeing as she had fallen asleep. She grumbles, and curls up in the chair, holding Dylan closely.

Carter looked over at Flash, realizing that everything in his left eye was a lot dimmer than it was in his right eye.

Flash whispers in her sleep and fidgets trying to get comfortable.

Carter whispered, "Mary."

Flash opens her eyes quickly and looks at Carter. "Carter," She whispers.

"You can come up here, if it's more comfortable," he spoke quietly.

Flash gets up and lays down beside Carter. "I just don't want to hurt you," She whispers and touches his lips lightly, feeling close to tears.

"You won't," he said quietly. He couldn't really talk very loudly.

Flash curls up beside him lightly. "Now I'm not the only that's had to wear one of these," She smiles and pulls at the hospital gown lightly.
