Carter chuckled quietly.
The next morning, Carter woke up to his phone buzzing. He sat up and looked at it, frowning.

Flash rolls over, squinting at him. She sits up, and blinks rapidly. "Who is it," She whispers.

"My boss," he said quietly, not wanting to answer.

Flash frowns, and twists her hair up on top of her head. "Does he always call this early," She whispers.

Flash frowns, and takes the phone, answering. "Hello?" She says groggily, and yawns.

"Who is this?" His boss asked quickly. Carter watched her.

"Mary Tabitha Shadows," Flash replies calmly. "But most people just call me Flash. Though it is just a name," She whispers, and glances at Carter. "Officer Carter is sleeping. I messaged his shoulders last night, and he just kinda fell asleep. He needs it though," She adds.

"Yes sir. Thank you for letting him sleep, he really needs it after helping me with my child all night," Flash whispers tiredly, and looks at Carter happily.

"Sorry to interrupt your sleep," he said quietly and hung up. Carter grinned, "Have I ever told you how much I love you?"

Flash puts his phone down, and smiles. "Yes. But I love hearing it," She whispers, and pushes him back down, burrowing under the blankets.
