Carter looked at Flash, then asked the doctor, "How long will that take?" "Not too long if everything goes well."

Flash curls up and hugs her knees tightly.

Carter nodded. The doctor sighed and added, "But we can't do it yet. You need more blood in you before we try anything. Just stay awake until then, okay?"

Flash giggles, and plays with her blanket quietly. "I want to know why these things, make so much noise," She smiles, and twists it around her finger.

Flash shakes her head. "Carter, don't beat yourself up about it. It could have been worse, okay? You couldn't have helped what happened, even if you were there. Please, it's not your fault. Just forget about it. I'll get better, and than hunt him down. Just don't worry about it," She whispers.
