The White blood's territory.

Cullen headed through the Whiteblood border in search of Shadowlight. The brute had long forgiven Shadowlight for Blue's death. He knew Blue had too. No matter what mistakes the Whiteblood leader makes, he would still forever be their son.

Shadowlight was in his den, where he usually spent most of his time now a days brooding. His personality changes coming and going as he tried to keep it in check. Right now, Shadow was in control, his pure white pelt shining in the dark cave. His eyes black holes of emptiness.

Cullen followed his son's scent towards the centre of the territory. He approached the main den. "Shadow?" he called, poking his head into the darkness.

A snarl came from the cave and white flashed in front of Cullen's eyes as Shadow snapped at him. "Get out!" he bellowed. Inside Shadow, Light fought for control. Light longed for interaction with his father. Yet the grief that Shadowlight felt in whole made it hard for the light to shine through.

Cullen took one step back then sat down. "I'm not leaving. We need to talk." he spoke calmly. "I'll stay here all day if I must to get through to you."

It was a long while before Shadow stepped out of the den. As he stepped out into the light, his pelt went from that of pure white to back to what his pelt used to be as a pup. His sides were in balance at the moment. But Shadowlight knew it wouldn't last long. "What do you want?" he asked calmly. He knew his father had forgiven him for what he had done but he would never be able to forgive himself. That is why he has isolated himself for the past few years after the incident.

"Your niece, Breeze, got a message from the ancestors. An old enemy will be returning. We need to unite the packs again so we can get rid of them once and for all. We need Whiteblood's aid." he explained. "We have a chance to give Blue peace." he added quietly.

"You would really trust me? After what happened last time?" He sneered then laughed at the idea. After a moment he narrowed his eyes. "How do you know I wont betray you like I did before? I can't even predict what my Shadow side will do." he warned.

"Maybe I do." Cullen replied calmly. "Locking yourself away isn't going to solve anything. Controlling your blood demon comes from practise. Fearing it only gives it power over you." he sighed. Why cant Shadow or Jupiter control their bloods? Are they mentally weaker than the others? he thought to himself. Or is it because their bloods are simply a lot stronger than everyone else's? Nothing made sense.

Shadowlight just laughed again. "You don't get it, do you? I can't control my Shadow side. It's pure evil. I'm cursed to be the wolf who has two sides. One of light and the other of darkness. Yin and yang. It's not just about blood with me." he growled in annoyance.
