Macy smiled, "Follow me." She smiled at Dylan then hurried over to the stairs, hurrying up them. The old wooden staircase creaked with every step.

Flash smiles, and follows, the stairs not making much noise as she climbed.

Macy led her to a small room with light blue paint on the walls, a rocking chair in the corner, a twin bed leaning against the wall by the window, and a big dresser sitting on the opposite wall. "Go ahead and have a seat," she smiled and opened one of the dresser drawers, looking for the pictures.

Flash smiles, and sits down, bouncing her knees. Dylan laughs, and grabs Flash's hair quickly.

Macy smiled, finding a box of pictures, and sat down on the bed by Flash. "I love pictures," she said quickly, opening the box.

Flash smiles. "Carter told me, when we were in the river half naked," She giggles.

Macy made an odd face, then shook her head, "That boy need to learn manners. You should, flick him on the ear or something every once in a while. It'll keep him in line." She pulled out a picture quickly of two little boys sitting in the mud with a water hose next to them, flexing their tiny muscles with mud on their face like war paint. "The one on the left is Carter. On the right is Bobby, which I'm sure you've met already."

Flash smiles, and looks at the picture. "They kind of remind me of two of my brothers when I knew them," She giggles.

Macy smiled and grabbed another picture, this one of a man in his early 30's standing with a rifle in his hands. There was a little bleach blonde boy standing next to him, holding a rifle also, smiling widely with crooked teeth. "This is Carter," she pointed to the little boy, "And this is his father, before he got cancer."

Flash smiles at the picture and nods. "He looks a lot like his dad," She whispers.

Macy nodded, "Yes, he does." She looked through the box, then found another picture of Carter and handed it to Flash. "That's him and the neighbors on thanksgiving when he was 14." He was stuffing his face with turkey, his hair wild.

Flash laughs, taking the picture. "He eats the same whenever I have big meals put out," She grins.

Macy smiled and handed Flash another picture. "He was shoveling the horse poop in the stables when his uncle started shooting him with a bb-gun." Carter was sitting outside in the grass, about 7 years old, covered in welts.

Macy handed her a few more pictures, naming what was happening. "There's his prom picture, with his girlfriend at the time. Then here, his first birthday, eating cake. Oh, and this one. He was, 17? I think. Him and his friends down in the river, swinging on the rope."

Blake drove up, and went to the front door, knocking. Macy stood up, "I'll get it." She hurried out of the room and down the steps, opening the door. "Who are you?"

Flash stands up, slowly, going to the bottom of the stairs. She watches the door, and squeaks quietly, pressing herself to the wall.

Blake nodded, "Mind if I come in for a glass of water? It's hot today." Macy smiled, "Yeah, of course, boy. Come on in."

Macy led him to the kitchen and handed him a cup of water. Blake drank it quickly, looking around suspiciously.

Flash moves her hair to hide her face, and walks half-way down the stairs. "Who was at the door, Macy," She asks.

"Oh, just a boy looking for some person by the name of Flash," Macy called back to Flash calmly. Blake turned toward the voice, then said to Macy quietly, "Flash's car in parked in your front yard, by the way." Macy smiled sweetly and looked at Blake, "Hmm?" "Her car. It's in your front yard. I know she's here." Macy smiled, but her eyes went hard and she stomped on his foot, grabbed his hair, kneed him between the legs, and slammed his head into the counter. She grabbed the front of his shirt and held him standing, grabbed her rifle from behind the counter, and stuck the muzzle of it up his nose. "Boy, you better get off my property before I blow your brains out all over my newly painted wall."
