Daine walks into the Crocked Shelf and smiles at the book shelves. She starts to look through them quietly, writing down titles and authors.

Fell scented Daine. His heart jerked, and he quickly hid in the basement on a couch.

Daine sniffs the air and then looks around. "Fell," She whispers and starts to look for him.

Fell started to freak. He clumsily tripped over old stacks of books, struggling to the closet.

Daine moves swiftly toward the sound of books falling and grabs them before they touch the ground. "Fell? I know your here. Why are you hiding," She whispers sadly.

Fell cursed lowly under his breath, biting his tongue. "'Cause you belong to Buddy, not me." he said blankly, wishing he hadn't.

Daine rolls her eyes and opens the closet door. "Then you have learned but little about me," She whispers.

"Don't want to learn anything more before I hurt myself." Fell replied, refusing to meet her gaze.

Daine sighs and closes her eyes before opening them again. She bends slightly and looks into his face. "I have not bared Buddy's pups, only Shadows, and yours," She whispers quietly and straightens.

Fell faught against Wolfbane's taunting. You're a shadow, and a liar! he couldn't hear him, but he knew what those silent whispers meant. "And what will Buddy do?"

Daine gives a small shrug, "It depends on if I have enough courage to tell him. He already knows about Runner, but not that he is my son. And about Death and Kishp," She whispers and shuts her eyes.

"J-just leave me be," Fell stuttered, unable to handle both Wolfbane and Daine's scent all at once. "I don't want to be hurt again."

Daine sighs and takes a step back, but not before touching his arm lightly. "I really wish you could see how much the pups miss you. Brook has helped, but I still can't accept or tell them anything. I don't want them to be against their own father," She whispers and walks slowly away from him.

Fell shuddered, his breaths coming in ragged gasps. He looked at his converse shoes and his plaid shirt. I've messed everything up. he thought, increasing the guilt that was building up in his chest. Fell walked back to the small couch and sat down, shoving his face into a pillow as he cried his heart out onto the pillow.

Daine sighs when she hears him start to cry and closes her eyes as she leans against a bookshelf. She sniffles quietly and puts her head in her hands.

Fell held back a wail. He got up after his heart was forever on that pillow before walking back out to his book.

Daine gives a small sigh and surges to her feet. She drys her eyes and then looks around. "Fell? I wanted to ask if you want to come over to Toube and Moonfire's house for dinner," She whispers.

"Why are you inviting me? I've messed everything up, you are Buddy's mate, not mine." Fell said, putting the book down and forcing his yellow eyes away from Daine's brown ones.

Shadow light was passing the book store when he saw Daine and Fell. He crept in quietly to listen. Then slipped out before he was noticed. 'I must tell Buddy.' he thought quickly and ran home.

Daine shrugs. "I don't want to bother him, what with Blue passing. And I trust you around my family, since yours could easily battle mine with their randomness," She whispers and drops her gaze to the book in her hands. "Warrior approves of you, and so does Moonfire. It's a wonder that she approves, because it's hard to impress her," She adds with a hallow laugh.

Daine gives a slight smile and sighs, checking her watch. "We better hurry, I'm supposed to be there in 20minutes," She giggles nervously and beacons toward the house. She rushes out of the story, after paying for her book, and waiting outside, pulling her hair into a messy bun on top of her head.

Fell followed her. He tripped and fell smack down on his face, but recovered quickly.
