Crystal's ears flicked and she shrugged.

Santanta noticed that most of the trees weren't even dead. He nudged Crystal gently and whispered, "Most of the trees aren't gone for. The leaves are just gone. It will be just like fall, and sense it is almost fall, by spring the trees should all be back to life. Also with some new trees as well."

Crystal looked around and smiled a little. She licked Santanta's cheek.

Santanta noticed that it was darker now than it was a few minutes ago. He look up toward the sun and saw it setting quickly in the distance. He smiled when she licked his cheek and then he tried more to reassure her, "Just think of it as an early fall."

Santanta teased, "Lets just hope that tonight doesn't end up like the first night I stayed at this place. If I see another pup, I'm going the other way."

Crystal raised an eyebrow then scooted a few times away from him. "Well, just in case I'm staying over here."

Santanta exploded with laughter and rolled over on his back. He couldn't control his laughter and before he knew it, he fell backward into pond that had little water inside of it. He smacked his head on a few rocks before landing roughly on the hard ground.

Crystal perked her ears and tried to jump to her feet, but she gasped in pain and plopped over on her side. Catching her breath, she gasped, "Are you... Okay!?"

Only half conscious, his vision was blurry and his head was buzzing. He couldn't hear Crystal's voice.

Crystal crawled towards him, pain shooting throughout her body every time she inched forward. "Santanta!" She called again.

He remained laying there motionless. His body was bent, his back sticking up in the air from leaning on the side of the pond and his neck and head laying on the ground, his muzzle smashed to his chest.

Crystal stumbled over to him and shook him around. "Santanta! DON'T DIE!" She screamed at him.

He was still only half conscious and he heard muffled words. His eyes were closed and he barely peeked them open. Santanta was very confused.

Crystal saw him open his eyes and she licked his cheek repeatedly.

Santanta felt something touching his face but still didn't know where he was or what was going on. He slowly started to slide down, laying normally on his back. Santanta starred up at the sky, his eyes only half open. He seemed to be distance from the real world.
